So, I'm having massive writers block trying to review this debut record from Leed's based trio 'Sky Larkin'.
It's not that I have nothing to say about it, I just don't know how to say it....I'm really a music fan posing as a music journalist....but then again, isn't that what a blogger is anyway?
Anyway! This is a really great guitar record. The guitar hooks are really melodic and coupled with confident and strong vocal hooks (courstesy of front lady 'Katy'). Along with some really majestic and big sounding pop choures this is shaping up to be quite an impressive debut.

Tracks such as album opener 'Fossil, I' and 'Molten' just seem to soar and along with the intrictae rhythms of drummer 'Nestor' and bassist 'Doug', this is the sound of a band that seem to put alot of thought and engergy into what they're doing and believe in what they're saying.
Other than being great at the really tight guitar driven indie rock stuff, the band also incorperate keyboard into the tracks, which I think adds a really different dynamic to the record. It seems works really well with the rest of the record, to give the listener the sense that this band arent one trick ponys and willing to try out different sounds.
In conclusion 'Sky Larkin' have made a solid record; captivating, conpelling and rather refreshing.
